Rethink the Old Schoolyard at the Nygade Buildings in Aabenraa
The Applied Arts Council of the Municipality of Aabenraa has the ambition to facilitate a redesign of the former schoolyard at the Nygade Buildings in Aabenraa. The aim is to give the area a contemporary, artistic expression, integrating sculptural and creative use of light in urban space. The margin of expenditure available for the project is expected to be 6M DKK/ 790.000 €, incl. all expenses and 25 % Danish VAT.
The Council invites teams consisting of experienced professional artists and landscape architects to present themselves, in order to be invited to join a competition about the area.
Potential candidates must state their interest by sending CVs of team members, and 2-3 photos showing recent examples of their individual or joint productions. All correspondence should be in English, and the competition will also be held in English.
The documents should be mailed to the secretary of the Council, Charlotte Helt Brunsgaard, chb@aabenraa.dk . She must have the material before 12:00 on January 20th 2012.

The jury members of the competition will be a Danish artist and a Danish Landscape Architect - both highly estimated, 2 politicians and 2 civil servants representing the Cultural Board and the Planning Board of the City Council of Aabenraa, and 2 members of the Applied Arts Council of the Municipality of Aabenraa.
The invited teams who fullfill the obligations of the competition will receive the sum of 30.000 DKK for each of the runner ups, and 100.000 DKK for the winning team.
