Indhold

MitID is a public electronic ID that serves to allow access to selfservice solutions such at digital mail.

Aabenraa municipality can help you make a MitID, provided you have a CPR number and need access to public digital solutions.

    Securing your identity

MitID is a private and personal solution that you need for everything from changeing your address on borger.dk, to registering property owership.

Because of this, it is important that you do not share your MitID with anyone, but also that you can properly identify yourself when getting help in our service center.

To make sure you can properly identify yourself, there is a list of acceptable documents that you need to bring if you have booked a time with us (remember: you always need to book a time to get help).

If you do not live in Denmark, or have only lived here for a limited time, you will most likely also need to bring a witness with their own ID and MitID to confirm your identity.

You can read more about demands for identification and witnesses below or on our booking site.

Check this, before you appear in citizen service

You can use the following Danish documents:

    • Permanent Passport eller drivers license (Kort or App)
    • Permit of residence with picture

If you do not have one of those (if you are living in Germany for example) you can combine two of the following documents:

    • Yellow card (physical or App) eller Special yellow card
    • Person- or birth certificate from Denmark or Greenland
    • residence certificate from Denmark or Greenland
    • NationalID card (for example personalausweis eller drivers license) from your home nation
    • Danish tax-return papers from the previous year or advance statement for current year, neither no older than three months.
    • Documentation of Documentation for public services (for example S.U.) No older than 3 months.
    • Danish national ID card

NOTE: At least one of the documents needs your CPR number.

During the process of creating your MitID, the system will try to make a request to the Danish CPR register to generate 4-6 questions about you.

If the register does not have sufficient information about you, it will deny progress and you will need a witness.

You should expect to need and bring a witness if: You do not live in denmark, or you only moved to denmark within the past few years, did not move much, don't have children and more.

A witness must have had thier own MitID for no less than 30 full days(30 x 24 hours), can not have been witness for more than 2 others within the past 120 days and needs to bring thier own MitID and documentation in the form of for example valid passport or drivers license. Witnesses with non-danish ID must also bring one of the following:

    • Baptism or birth certificate issued in DK or Greenland
    • Valid yellow card (Physical or app)
    • ID card from municipality i DK (This also requires the yellow card)
    • Identity or residence certificate from Denmark or Greenland

You can read more about ID papers and witnesses here: https://www.mitid.dk/en-gb/help/help-universe/mitid-and-documentation/?language=en-gb

If you needed a witness for MitID creation last time, it is almost certain that you will need one again this time.

If you live in Denmark, you can contact us to get a document with your CPR (a Yellow card for example).

If you work in Denmark, but live in for example Germany or another contry, you need the Special yellow card.

Alternatively can can contact SKAT and get prepayment statement or annual statement.

Remember to always bring 2 documents.

    UserID:

The first time you get MitID, you will need to chose a UserID, and you can save time if you've chosen one before you appear for your appointmen

A UserID is comparable to to a username in other context. People often think that it is a code or a password but this is not the case. Those are two very different things.

You will use the UserID everytime you need to sign into a self-service solution.

Your UserID needs to follow these rules:

    • 5 - 48 symbols
    • that can consist of
      • letters a - å (there is no distinction between lowercase and capital letters)
      • numbers 0 - 9
      • special-symbols: { } ! # $ ^ , * ( ) _ + - = : ; ? . @ and Space
      • It can not look like a CPR number

You can combine your UserID anyways you want, as long as it conforms to the above ruleset. A pure number or letter UserID is fully acceptable.

    Code til App

If you want the App for your smartphone, you will need to chose a 6-digit pin-code for it.

You will need to enter the pin-code every time you approve a login after entering your UserID, unless you use Biometrics on your phone

    Password for code-generator

If you want to use a code-generator, you need a password of minimum 8 digits.

The password can be made from basically the same rules as your UserID, however, it can not be like your UserID, and unlike the UserID, the password is case-sensitive.
